There is no ranch ticket, only tour tickets
Kualoa Ranch is a 4,000 acre working cattle ranch and private nature reserve at 49-560 Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe, on the windward coast of Oahu, about 24 miles and about 45 minutes from Waikiki. The same family has owned it since 1850, and more than 200 movies and television shows have filmed here, including Jurassic Park in 1993, Jurassic World, Kong Skull Island, Jumanji, Lost and Hawaii Five 0, per Kualoa Ranch. That history is why almost every Oahu visitor hears the same advice, go to Kualoa, and then hits the same wall. The ranch sells about a dozen tours that all sound alike, at prices from $59.95 to $199.95 per adult, and there is no general admission ticket that lets you sort it out on the day. You book one named tour, on one date, at one start time, and that tour is your whole visit to the valleys.
So the real question is not whether to go. It is which vehicle, which valley and which set of rules fit your group. The tours split cleanly into three families. The sightseeing tours cost $59.95 and ride for 90 minutes with a guide driving. The movie tours go deeper into the Jurassic sites and cost up to $149.95. The adventure tours put you on a UTV, a zipline or a horse and cost $154.95 to $199.95. Every competitor guide checked for this article lands on the same three consensus picks, the UTV Raptor Tour for drivers, the Jurassic Adventure Tour for movie fans and the Movie Sites Tour for everyone else, and the Viator review counts below back that up. The differences that actually decide it are the ones in the fine print, driver age, child age, weight limits and a cancellation policy with no give in it at all.

Prices, ratings and review counts reflect Viator listings and the ranch price list checked in October 2026. Viator shows Kualoa prices with the 4.712 percent Hawaii tax included, the ranch shows them before tax, which is why the same tour shows two numbers everywhere you look. Child prices run $39.95 for the sightseeing tours, $69.95 for the UTV, $74.95 for Jurassic Adventure and horseback, and $134.95 for the zipline, for the child age bands in the rules section below. One rule covers every row of this table. On Viator, every Kualoa Ranch listing is non refundable and cannot be changed for any reason.
The bookable picks
Kualoa Ranch UTV Raptor Tour
The consensus adventure pick, and the tour people ask about most across every guide checked for this article. You drive your own open air Raptor, a multi passenger side by side vehicle with a roll cage, in a small guided convoy through Kaaawa Valley for 2 hours, crossing seasonal streams and stopping at movie sites along the dirt roads. Viator lists it at $162.25 per adult with tax, rated 4.7 across 1,738 reviews and recommended by 92 percent of travelers, the biggest review base of any adventure tour at the ranch. One booking holds one vehicle for 2 to 6 guests, the helmet and safety briefing are included in the 2 hours, and up to two drivers can share the driving. Now the rules that catch families out. The driver must be age 21 or older and show a valid drivers license at check in. Passengers must be age 5 or older, full stop, so a family with a 4 year old cannot book this tour at all. Expect dust in dry weather and mud after rain, no restroom stops for the full 2 hours, and no hotel transport in the ticket. This is also the fastest selling tour on the property, so book it before you book almost anything else on Oahu.

The deep movie tour, and the pick when nobody in your group can or wants to drive. A guide takes a small group through three valleys, Kualoa, Hakipuu and Kaaawa, in an open air custom vehicle for 2 hours 30 minutes, stopping at the sets the shorter tours only pass. You stand inside the Indominus Rex paddock with its 60 foot walls, see the dinosaur cages and bunkers used in the films, and visit the Gallimimus field from the original Jurassic Park. Viator lists it at $157.02 per adult with tax, rated 4.6 across 630 reviews and recommended by 90 percent of travelers, with groups capped at 20 travelers. Children from age 3 can ride, which makes this the Jurassic route for families the UTV age rule locks out. The roads are bumpy, the listing warns travelers with back problems and expectant mothers off it, and there is no food, drink or transport included. If your group would happily spend the extra hour on Jurassic detail, this tour earns its $90 premium over the Movie Sites Tour. If you just want to see the valley, it does not.

The default Kualoa tour, the highest volume product at the ranch, and the right answer for grandparents, toddlers and anyone who wants the valley without the jolts. You ride a vintage bus through Kaaawa Valley for 90 minutes while a guide works through the filming locations, the Jurassic Park log from the T Rex chase, the Lost beach camp site, the Kong Skull Island boneyard and the 50 First Dates gate, with a stop inside a real World War II bunker. Viator lists it at about $63 per adult with tax, rated 4.6 across 1,835 reviews, the largest review count of any Kualoa product. Groups run to 40 travelers, infants sit on laps, and it is the only valley tour here with no age floor at all. The trade off is depth. You see the famous sites, but you do not get the Indominus Rex paddock interior or the back valley routes the Jurassic Adventure and UTV tours cover. At one third of their price, most first timers should start here and put the savings toward a second tour.
Check Kualoa Ranch Movie Sites Tour availability on Viator →Kualoa Ranch Jurassic Valley Zipline Tour
The highest rated tour at the ranch and the most expensive single tour in this guide. The course runs 7 tandem ziplines, described on the listing as 14 tandem cables, plus 2 suspension bridges and short nature trails through Kaaawa Valley over about 3 hours, with lines from 200 feet up to about a quarter mile, roughly 1,320 feet. Viator lists it at $193.66 per adult with tax, rated 4.8 across 318 reviews and recommended by 96 percent of travelers, with groups capped at just 11 travelers. No experience is needed and the braking is automatic, but the eligibility rules are the strictest on the property and they are verified at check in with no refund for anyone who fails them. Riders must be age 10 or older, weigh between 70 and 280 pounds, stand between 4 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 9 inches, and meet waist and thigh harness measurements of 22 to 50 inches and 18 to 28 inches. Closed toe shoes are required and long pants are recommended. Measure your group before you pay, not in the parking lot.

The sampler, and the best value on the property if you want range without driving anything. This full day package bundles three 90 minute tours, the Hollywood Movie Sites Tour, the Jungle Expedition and the Kualoa Grown farm and fishpond tour, with a Ranch House buffet lunch of BBQ pork ribs, teriyaki chicken and salads between them. Viator lists it at $172.72 per adult with tax, rated 4.6 across 241 reviews and recommended by 91 percent of travelers, and the day starts at 9.20 am with the same 45 minute early check in. Children must be age 3 or older. Set expectations on what the package is not. It includes no UTV time, no zipline and no horseback riding, because those are separate premium products the ranch never bundles. What it does is solve the choosing problem for a first visit, three valleys, three themes and lunch handled, for about $8 more than the UTV tour alone costs. If you have one day for the ranch and no strong adventure preference, this is the booking.

The calm option, run the paniolo way, in the tradition of the Hawaiian cowboy. This 2 hour guided ride walks through the pastures and valley trails of Kaaawa and Hakipuu at a steady walk, trading movie set close ups for ridgeline and ocean views and the quietest hour you can buy on this property. The ranch lists it at $154.95 per adult and $74.95 for children ages 10 to 12, and groups cap at just 6 riders, the smallest group size in this guide. The rules are firm and checked in person. Riders must be age 10 or older, at least 4 feet 6 inches tall and no more than 230 pounds, guests are weighed at check in, and giving inaccurate height or weight at booking can mean denial of service without a refund. Closed toe and closed heel shoes are required and long pants are strongly encouraged. Couples and nature first travelers rate this format well, but go in clear eyed. You will take most photos from the saddle, and the movie sites are scenery here, not stops.

The rest of the ranch, in one pass
Three more tours matter for specific groups. The Jungle Expedition loads you into a 6 wheel drive Swiss Pinzgauer for a bumpy 90 minute climb through the Hakipuu rainforest to a remote lookout over the windward coast, rated 4.6 across 561 reviews on Viator at about $63, with children from age 3 welcome and groups capped at 16 travelers. It is the cheapest off road ride at the ranch and the best second tour after Movie Sites, because it shows you the other valley. Check Kualoa Ranch Jungle Expedition availability on Viator →
The Ocean Voyage leaves the valleys entirely. You cross Molii fishpond, an 800 year old example of ancient Hawaiian aquaculture, then board a 49 passenger catamaran at Secret Island for a cruise on Kaneohe Bay past MokoliI Island, about 20 minutes on the fishpond and about 45 minutes on the water inside a 90 minute tour at $59.95. It does not run on Sundays or federal holidays, per Kualoa Ranch, because state law closes the bay to commercial vessels on those days. Secret Island itself is the beach half day, 3 hours 30 minutes at $59.95 or a full day at $119.95, with kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and hammocks on a private beach, rated 4.2 across about 80 reviews on Viator. Check Kualoa Ranch Secret Island Beach Activities availability on Viator → For active travelers there are also two e bike tours, a 2 hour novice ride covering about 6 miles and a 3 hour ultra ride covering 15 to 16 miles of technical trail, both for riders age 10 or older between 85 and 250 pounds, and both start with a skills test you can fail, with no refund.
The three traps in this category
Trap one is the cancellation policy, because it is unlike almost everything else on Viator. Every Kualoa Ranch listing in this guide is non refundable and cannot be changed for any reason. Miss the 45 minute check in at the Ticket Office, bring a driver without a license, or arrive with a child under the age floor, and the money is gone. The ranch direct terms are different, with refunds available when you call at least 48 hours ahead, so if your Oahu dates might still move, that difference is a real reason to compare the direct checkout against the Viator one before you pay. What Viator buys you is one account for all your Oahu bookings and the review record. What it costs you here is all flexibility.
Trap two is eligibility measured at the ranch. The zipline verifies weight, height, waist and thigh size at check in. Horseback weighs guests at check in. The UTV checks the drivers license at check in. In every case the listing states the same ending, a guest who does not meet the requirement does not ride and does not get refunded. These numbers are in the table and FAQ above for a reason. Check them against your actual group while you are still at home.
Trap three is transport, because none of these tickets include it. The ranch sits about 45 minutes from Waikiki on a two lane coast highway, check in closes 45 minutes before your start, and a morning tour therefore means leaving Waikiki about 90 minutes before your tour time. Free parking rewards drivers. Everyone else needs the ranch round trip shuttle at about $30 per person, booked ahead, or a rideshare budget that reflects a 24 mile trip each way. The perfect 7 day Hawaii itinerary puts Kualoa on the North Shore loop day for exactly this reason. The ranch is on the same road, and doubling the windward drive on two separate days is the rookie version of this trip.
Which tour, by traveler
Book the UTV Raptor Tour if you have a licensed driver age 21 or older, everyone riding is age 5 or older, and your group wants to do something rather than watch something. It is the ranch signature experience and its 1,738 reviews at 4.7 are the strongest signal in this guide. Book the Jurassic Adventure Tour if Jurassic is the point of the trip, if your youngest is 3 or 4, or if nobody wants to drive on vacation. Book the Movie Sites Tour if your group spans grandparents to toddlers, if this is your first ranch visit, or if $63 is simply the right price for a valley morning. Book the zipline if you want the single most thrilling 3 hours and everyone clears the size rules with room to spare.
Book the Best of Kualoa package if you have a full day, want the widest range, and like lunch being solved. Book horseback if slow and scenic beats fast and dusty for your group. And if you can do two tours in one day, the pairing every guide checked for this article ends up recommending is Movie Sites in the morning for the overview, then the Jungle Expedition or Secret Island in the afternoon, once you know which valley is which.
Know before you go
The ranch is open daily from 7.30 am to 6 pm and closes on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Tours run rain or shine, and the windward coast earns its green honestly, with passing showers a normal part of a Kualoa morning. Morning starts are cooler, less crowded and less likely to run in afternoon rain, which is why the early UTV and zipline departures sell first. Aunty Pats Cafe serves ranch food on site, the gift shop sells the obvious Jurassic souvenirs, and lockers rent for a $5 deposit if you are stacking two tours. Every tour requires the same check in, 45 minutes ahead at the Ticket Office, voucher and photo ID matching the booking name in hand, and drivers and riders alike sign a liability waiver.
One honest limit applies to the whole property. This is a guided tour ranch, not a theme park and not a hiking trailhead. You will not walk into Kaaawa Valley alone at any price, the movie sets are seen on a route with a guide, and even the drive yourself UTV follows a guide in a convoy. Travelers who accept that frame love this place, as the review counts show. Travelers who arrive expecting to explore freely are the ones who leave disappointed.
Where this fits in your Oahu week
Kualoa Ranch is a windward coast half day or full day, and it anchors the east side of an Oahu trip the way Pearl Harbor anchors the south. Our Oahu guide places it alongside the other book ahead days on the island, our Pearl Harbor tour comparison from Waikiki covers the other morning that punishes late booking, and the ranch drive pairs naturally with an early start from our Diamond Head hike tickets guide on a different day rather than the same one. Keep the water days separate too, using our Hanauma Bay reservation vs snorkeling tour comparison for the snorkel morning on this same coast. Save the evening of your ranch day for something gentler in our best Waikiki sunset sail catamaran guide, and put the luau on its own night with our best luau on Oahu comparison.
